About JumpstartJazz Productions
JumpstartJazz is
the production / promotion company headed by Kevin McCabe, WRTC morning
jazz host (Trinity College, Hartford,CT) and former Greater Hartford
Festival of Jazz producer.
After a four year stint at the GHFJ (1999-2002),
Kevin formed JumpstartJazz in order to produce and promote live
contemporary jazz in the Connecticut area.
Since launching the series in
downtown Hartford in August 2003, JumpstartJazz has presented 23 shows as part of the WRCH 'Lite
100.5 FM Smooth Jazz Saturday Night Concert Series' presented by
Heineken.
The series is now presented at the SBM Charitable
Foundation Auditorium at Manchester Community College in Manchester,
CT. This 300 reserved seat performance venue is a state of the
art facility which allows JumpstartJazz to present more prominent
National Contemporary Smooth recording artists in a true intimate
theater setting.
In 2007, JumpstartJazz Productions continued to expand, presenting Chris Botti to a near sold out crowd at The Bushnell Memorial in Hartford, CT. More shows are on tap at The Bushnell as well as at The SBM Charitable
Foundation Auditorium at Manchester Community College in Manchester, CT.
Our mission is to present world-class contemporary/smooth jazz that celebrates our diversity and enlivens the cultural and economic vitality of central Connecticut while creating stewardship for the music in youth through exposure and support of music education.
The Central CT Contemporary Jazz scene will be
'on the map' known for great, live music if the folks at JumpstartJazz
Productions have anything to say about it!
Performers have included Marion Meadows, Chris Botti,
Special EFX featuring Chieli Minucci, Nelson Rangell, David Mann,
Jay Rowe, Ken Navarro, Richard Elliot, Kim Waters, Jeff Kashiwa,
Nestor Torres, Chuck Loeb, Acoustic Alchemy, Brian Culbertson and
The Rippingtons with Russ Freeman and Eric Marienthal.

Thanks to all of our sponsors, patrons, supporters
and in particular Lite 100.5 FM, Manchester Community
College staff and public safety officers, stage crew, Snow Sound,
Shaboo Productions, Northern Lights, and the 'dedicated crew' at
JumpstartJazz.
Together we will ALL make a positive impact on
the CT Jazz scene.
